Air Duct Cleaning in Toronto, Done Right the First Time

Downtown Toronto holds the city’s oldest housing stock, much of it built before forced-air heating even existed, so what looks like a duct system today is often a retrofit added decades after the house itself was built. That history means we check whether we’re dealing with original ductwork, a retrofit, or a mini-duct system before touching anything.

The Beaches grew up as a lakeside cottage and resort community in the early 1900s before those cottages were converted into year-round homes, giving it some of the city’s oldest and smallest housing stock. Older, smaller homes like these often have ductwork that’s been modified more than once.

Leslieville was originally an industrial and working-class area built up through the late 1800s and early 1900s, with rows of older homes that have since been renovated extensively. Renovation work like that often means the ductwork has been altered from its original layout, so we always check first.

High Park is known for its older, larger homes built mainly in the early 20th century around the park itself, many with high ceilings and older heating systems retrofitted over the years. That history of retrofits means duct layout can be unpredictable house to house.

Riverdale’s homes mostly went up in the late 1800s and early 1900s as one of Toronto’s original streetcar suburbs, with narrow lots and older brick construction throughout. Ductwork in homes this old has almost always been changed at least once since the original build.
